Military Justice

Dear Friends,
This is in response to certain misgivings expressed, at another website, about the Hon'ble Advocates & Bar Associations.

The Supreme Court of India allows only such Advocates to practise before it, as have been appointed by it as Advocates-on-Record, by a judicial order, and only after they have completed a certain number of years of practice, undergone prescribed training, passed the prescribed Examination, and a Gazette Notification about their such appointment has been published. I am an Advocate-on-Record (Supreme Court of India) with two decades of practice, and also the General Secretary of the Indian Ex-Servicemen's Bar Association (Registered).

Kindly do keep us informed if you find a military personnel who deserves legal assistance but is unable to afford the high professional fees--our Association will try to do whatever we can to help him, please.

Most of the highly qualified lawyers take their profession seriously, and are really engrossed in a crusade to improve the Justice Delivery System--though their number is dwindling. For example, I was instrumental in getting the Army & Air Force Acts amended, Military Doctors' Promotion Policies revised twice, Land & Development Office's Rules changed, Supreme Court Legal Services Committee's Rules changed, etc. etc. And vide my Articles--which were published in the National Dailies, I was humbly able to introduce the legal concept which brought the Members of Parliament & Members of Legislative Assemblies within the ambit of the term 'public servants' and, hence, under the Prevention of Corruption Act; and also in introducing the concept which ultimately helped Mr. Sanjay Dutt to obtain release on bail. So, please do not be under the impression that all the Hon'ble Members of the Bar are either on strike all the time or are not interested in improving the overall legal environment or are obtaining reliefs under the table, etc.
A facsimile of my Visiting Card is available on demand, please.

Have a nice day!
